# Duvo for Microsoft Teams

> Duvo agents run real business work end to end. The Duvo app brings them into Microsoft Teams: pick an agent to start a Run, answer the approvals your process gates on a human, and get the result back in the conversation.

Duvo agents do the work, not just the reporting. They pull data from your
systems, apply your rules, decide what needs to happen, ask a human when the
call is theirs to make, and then carry the action out — raise the purchase
order, send the email, update the record.

The Duvo app puts that loop where your team already is. Message Duvo in a chat,
or mention **@Duvo** in a channel, pick an agent, and it starts a Run. When the Run
finishes, the agent posts its result back into the same conversation. Where your
process gates an action on a human, it asks in Teams and waits for your answer
before it acts.

<Note>
  The Duvo app is a companion to the Duvo platform. You need a Duvo account to
  use it — [start here](https://app.duvo.ai).

## How it works in Teams

    Send Duvo a message in your personal chat with the app, or mention
    **@Duvo** in a channel or group chat. Duvo replies with the agents you can
    start from Teams.

    to the Run in Duvo.

  <Step title="A human decides, where you asked for one" icon="circle-check">
    You choose which steps need a person — typically the ones that commit money
    or leave the company. A gated step pauses and asks in Teams; answer or
    approve, and the agent either carries on or stops.
  </Step>

  <Step title="The agent completes the work" icon="play">
    It performs the action in the target system and posts the result back into
    the conversation where you started it.

## What the app does in Teams

* **Starts Runs from a chat or a mention** — Message Duvo directly, or mention @Duvo in a channel or group chat it has been added to, and choose the agent to run.
* **Follows up in the same place** — In a channel thread, mention @Duvo again to send the agent a follow-up. In a chat, Duvo offers to continue the last Run.
* **Asks for decisions where you are** — Approvals, questions, and input requests arrive as cards in Teams. Answer there; the Run resumes.
* **Posts results and notifications** — Run output goes back to the conversation that started it, and you can choose to get Duvo notifications as Teams messages.
* **Reads the conversation as context** — In a channel, the agent gets the thread it was mentioned in. In a chat, it gets any message you quoted in the mention.
* **Starts agents from group-chat rules** — A group chat can start an agent automatically when a message matches a rule you set in Duvo, without anyone mentioning @Duvo.

<Note>
  Duvo uses large language models. Responses, summaries, and other output can be
  inaccurate or incomplete — review anything consequential before acting on it.
  This is why processes that commit money or leave the company are the ones to
  gate on a human.
</Note>

## Install it

The app is installed once per Microsoft 365 organization from inside Duvo.
Each person then links their own account and adds the app for themselves.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add the app for your organization" icon="download">
    Go to the [Connections page](https://app.duvo.ai/integrations), open
    **Microsoft Teams**, and click **Add to Teams**. Sign in with your Microsoft
    work account. Depending on your organization's settings, a Microsoft or
    Teams administrator may need to approve the app.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Link your own Teams account" icon="user">
    On the same page, click **Enable** under **Your Account** and sign in. Every
    team member does this once — it tells Duvo which Teams user you are.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add Duvo in Teams" icon="message-circle">
    In Teams, open **Apps**, search for **Duvo**, and click **Add**. This opens
    your personal chat with Duvo, which is where it messages you.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The [Microsoft Teams Connection page](/user-guide/connections/available-connections/microsoft-teams)
covers each step in detail, including admin approval.

## Permissions, data, and privacy

Installing authorizes two separate identities, and they reach different things:

* **The Duvo app** posts as **Duvo**, so automated messages stay distinguishable from people. It receives messages that mention it, messages in your personal chat with it, and messages in the channels and group chats it has been added to.
* **Your linked Teams account** reaches whatever that account can already see. Duvo uses it to identify you and to read the context an agent needs, such as the rest of a channel thread or a shared file. An agent working under your account sees exactly what you would see, and nothing else.

When the app is added to a team or chat, Teams asks to let it read messages
there and send activity notifications. Duvo uses these permissions only to
start agents from the rules you set and to notify the people a Run is for.

Tokens are encrypted at rest. You can unlink your account or disconnect the
organization at any time from the
[Connections page](https://app.duvo.ai/integrations), or remove the app in
Teams.

For how Duvo handles connected data, see
[Security and privacy](/user-guide/resources/security-and-privacy), the
[Privacy Policy](https://www.duvo.ai/privacy-policy), and the
[Terms of Use](https://www.duvo.ai/terms-of-use).
