# Ask Duvo

> The chat assistant built into every Duvo page — ask about your Agents, Runs, and Connections, and have Duvo do the work with you.

Ask Duvo is a chat assistant that sits on every page in Duvo. Ask it a question about your workspace in plain language and it answers from what is actually there — your Agents, Runs, Queues, and Connections. Ask it to do something and, where you have permission to do it yourself, it does it for you.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Beta** — Ask Duvo is in public beta. It is enabled per team, so if you do not see it yet, ask the Duvo team to turn it on. The experience may change while it is in beta.

## Key Capabilities

* **Answers grounded in your workspace** — Ask Duvo reads your real Agents, Runs, Queues, and Connections rather than answering from general knowledge, so "why did last night's Run stop?" gets a specific answer.
* **Acts on your behalf** — it can create and change things for you, always using your own permissions. It cannot do anything the app would refuse if you did it by hand.
* **Knows where you are** — Ask Duvo can see which page you have open, so "what is wrong with this one?" works without you pasting a link.
* **Works with your Connections** — attach a Connection to a chat and Ask Duvo can use it to look things up while you talk.
* **Takes files and images** — drop in a spreadsheet, a screenshot, or a PDF and ask about its contents.
* **Listens** — dictate a message instead of typing it.
* **Remembers** — every conversation is saved, searchable, and resumable.

## How to Use It

**1. Open Ask Duvo**

Select the **Ask Duvo** button floating at the edge of the screen. It opens as a side panel next to whatever you are working on, so the page stays visible.

Two other ways in, if you prefer them:

* **Open full page** in the panel header gives Ask Duvo the whole screen. **Open in dock** puts it back.
* The command palette has an **Ask Duvo** entry.

The floating button can be dragged up and down the edge of the screen if it sits over something you need, and it stays where you put it. A dot on the button means a reply arrived while you were elsewhere.

**2. Ask for what you need**

Write in plain language — there is no command syntax to learn. Ask Duvo works out what you mean and asks you when it is not sure.

Use the microphone in the composer to dictate instead of typing.

**3. Point at specific things with @**

Type `@` to mention a specific Agent, Queue, or Pulse dashboard by name. Mentioning is more precise than describing — `@Invoice Intake` leaves no doubt which Agent you mean.

**4. Watch it work, and stop it if you need to**

While Ask Duvo works, the panel shows what it is doing. If it has taken the wrong turn, stop the reply and redirect it — you do not have to wait for it to finish.

**5. Answer its questions**

When something is ambiguous or consequential, Ask Duvo asks before acting and posts the question in the conversation. Answer it and the work continues from there.

**6. Pick the thread back up later**

Conversations are saved automatically. Open the history panel to search past chats and continue any of them.

## Adding Files and Images

Drag a file onto the conversation, or attach it from the composer. Ask Duvo reads it and answers questions about the contents — extract the line items from an invoice, describe what a screenshot shows, or compare a spreadsheet against what is in a Queue.

**Attachments per message** `up to 5`

Attach up to five files to a single message.

**Size per file** `up to 25 MB`

Files larger than 25 MB are rejected with a message in the composer.

## Using Your Connections in a Chat

By default Ask Duvo works with Duvo itself. Attach one of your Connections to a chat and it can reach that system too — so it can look something up in the source instead of asking you to go and check.

Only Connections you already have access to are offered, and only for the team you are working in. Attaching a Connection to a chat does not change anything about the Agents that use it.

> [!TIP]
>
> Attach the Connection before you ask the question that needs it. Ask Duvo checks what it can reach at the start of a turn.

## When Duvo Cannot Fix It Itself

Some problems are not yours to fix — a fault on Duvo's side, or a question that genuinely needs a person. In those cases Ask Duvo can hand the problem to the Duvo team from inside the chat, with everything it already worked out attached. It drafts the message, you edit it, and nothing is sent until you send it.

## Things to Know

> **Your conversations are private to you**
>
> Chats belong to the person who started them. Teammates cannot see yours, and you cannot see theirs.
>
> **Copy link to chat** in the panel header copies a link for your own use — to keep in a ticket, or to reopen the conversation later. It is not a sharing link: anyone else who opens it gets a "not found" page. To pass on what Ask Duvo told you, copy the text of the reply instead.

> **Switching team space starts a fresh conversation**
>
> Ask Duvo works within one team at a time. When you switch team space, the open conversation closes and a new one begins, so nothing from another team's workspace leaks into the answer.
>
> The previous conversation is not lost — find it in the history panel after switching back.

> **Ask Duvo has exactly your permissions**
>
> Ask Duvo acts as you. If your account cannot see a Queue or change an Agent, neither can Ask Duvo on your behalf. It cannot be talked into more access than you have.

> **Broad questions take longer**
>
> A question about one Run answers quickly. A question spanning many Runs, Queues, or dashboards means Ask Duvo has more to read first, and the reply takes longer to begin. The panel keeps showing what it is doing while it works.
